Our client is a well-established, leading home delivery management solutions provider for some of the best-known companies in retail and distribution. They required an Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) management solution that would work on multiple mobile technologies including, Apple, Windows and Android.
StyleTech’s client knew they had to move to a mobile platform to remain competitive. They required a bespoke real-time dispatch and monitoring system which included GPS tracking, barcode scanning, and capability to store images such as photographs and proof of delivery signatures against each delivery. Crucially, data synchronisation was required between multiple technologies, ensuring all tracking and associated information could be stored against each delivered and collected item.
We were asked to ensure the technology could automate messages between driver, administration teams and clients, and automate a route planner for all deliveries, including re-routing for missed or delayed deliveries and pick-ups.
We were chosen as the preferred supplier of bespoke ePOD mobile technology after demonstrating an ability to meet all of the client’s ePOD development requirements within strict and demanding timescales.
StyleTech’s solution ensured data was able to seamlessly link between mobiles and the customer’s secure web services, with an easy-to-use interface designed and developed in consultation with the client’s logistics and delivery teams.
Synchronising data (text and media) between office and driver ensures an efficient approach to real-time data management. This synchronisation depends on the bandwidth of the network connection, with text and highly optimised images transmitted on standard networks, while full definition images are transmitted via a Wi-Fi connection. All data synchronisations are performed over a secure public network and all web services implement additional security measures.
From the management side, a control dashboard gives live reports and access to all delivery statuses, and productivity levels for delivery drivers, administration and customer service teams, via a secure login to a delivery portal.
The ePOD mobile home delivery management solution has ensured faster access to proof of delivery and provided the client with real-time product tracking, enabling them to have a 360-degree view of the complete delivery cycle.
The mobile application has improved the quality of data collected, generating efficiencies throughout despatch and delivery processing, thereby reducing the average cost per delivery due to increased productivity.
With multi-lingual capabilities already integrated, this bespoke development is now being rolled out into Europe, America and beyond.
