The Project Brief
Our client, Wolflabs, are a private limited company who predominantly supply laboratory equipment to the higher education sector/ UK public sector. They approached StyleTech looking for help to modernise and enhance their current website, including a new visual design. They wanted their new site to be fully adaptive and compatible across all devices, not just desktop.
They needed a solution that would utilise processes that worked well, fix known issues such as poor performance and data inconsistencies which were starting to have a negative impact on productivity and growth.
Our Solution
We delivered a superior, modern site with a fresh new look that works on all platforms including, desktop, mobile and tablet, making it more convenient for our client's customers. We streamlined, normalised and standardised functionality making the site more straightforward, speeding up several processes in and out of the website. We optimised our client's database and search capabilities by adding modern controls which allow slicing and dicing of product results sets. We also fixed many smaller problems along the way, providing them with a website, that will help them continue to grow.
We implemented several new security features to ensure secure registration including, encrypted passwords, email address verification and web account activation via email. All web forms have been standardised, and addresses are completed using a Postcode lookup, which helps to maintain the quality of their customer information. Our client can remain confident knowing that their data is safe.
During the development, we held weekly meetings and frequent email conversations to ensure that the quality and direction of the work is exactly what our client required. We utilised Microsoft DevOps, OneNote and Teams to manage the project, so we know exactly what we need from each other. Using our combined knowledge and expertise, we can advise our client on the available solutions, with and without the use of jargon to come up with the best solution. As our understanding of their business has grown, it has given us an insight into areas of future development which we are actively discussing.
The Results
Our client can now work with a higher quality, more efficient and stable website, which meets their current and on-going business needs. The site allows our clients to communicate with their customers more effectively utilising all device platforms, and in so doing, increasing their overall website traffic. The extra functionality has added more ways to highlight and view products making it easier for their customers to access information. Issues which had previously caused a strain on their productivity and speed of processes have all been resolved.
