Meet The Team
We are incredibly proud of the team we have built here at StyleTech, click below and get to know us a little better.
Home automation, the rise of smart assistants have brought about some exciting and in some cases, bizarre possibilities. Once the work of science fiction, now in reach of many at an affordable price. This can prove to be revolutionary for people with difficulties getting around the house or just fun for those who are fanatical about technology.
Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to sit back and watch a film.
“Alexa, play Back to the Future in the bedroom”...“OK, playing the backstreet boys in the bathroom”, well I never said it was perfect.
Virtual Reality, as it recreates a virtual environment in which a person can look around in 360 degrees, hear thrilling sounds, and move your body to interact with the world around you in a fantastic way.
VR allows you to visit places that you may never have been able to go to before, whilst being in the comfort of your own home.
VR is at the start of its development, and it's got so much more to come.
VOIP, has revolutionised the telephone market, and no longer do we have an inflexible telephone exchange, we now have a digital system that can be configured to our exact needs which removes all of the previous limitations, it has opened up the communication possibilities.
Bluetooth, especially when used to connect a mobile device wirelessly to speakers or headphones. I love listening to the radio, audio books, podcasts, and music and the range, availability, and quality of these has increased massively over recent years. Using wireless speakers and headphones was a revelation to me and makes listening more convenient and enjoyable whether at home, in the garden, or out and about.
Folding displays, are a fantastic bit of tech as they let you fit a lot more screen space into a much smaller area. Having a full tablet sized device that can be folded away into a pocket is a life-changer. Just need to make sure you don’t get any dust in the hinge!
Paid streaming services, pick and choose when and what to watch or listen to without interruptions.
The internet, who knew you would be able to find anything out at the touch of the button from your mobile phone - useful and useless information.
Artificial Intelligence, I am captivated by the world of artificial intelligence. From Language Models (LLMs) and Image Generators to the potential future applications, such as the ability to generate entire games from a simple prompt, AI represents an ever-evolving frontier.
Build pipelines, as they have completely removed the pain points that we previously experienced when publishing a system. Build pipelines ensure the system must pass the automated tests and all configuration parameters will be correctly applied based on the target environment.
Azure, as it provides a fantastic set of services and tools which any developer should be versed in. It has taken a lot of the headaches out of traditional hosting and makes the integration of complex features such as AI & Machine Learning very accessible to any developer.
React, makes it easy to create reusable components across different platforms, saving time and effort in development. Also, React and React Native are constantly evolving and improving, with regular updates and new features being added all the time.
Spacecraft Software, from the days of the Lunar landings, to today, computers are a crucial part in spacecraft operations. They have to run in the harsh environment of space and on the surface of other moons and planets. Space exploration is a great tool to inspire humanity and make life better down here on earth. It would not be possible without dedicated software technologies.
Visual Studio, as it enables developers to work on multiple types of projects from cloud, web, mobile and desktop, making it essential. It can be easily extended with 3rd party plugins and tools to improve productivity further.
Arduinos and Raspberry Pi's, these little micro computers are amazing, as a developer being able to configure smart home technology, industry sensors in toxic environments or even set up my own research and development services, all from the same device is incredible.
Virtualization, as it allows me to set up a whole network of servers on my laptop in minutes when it used to need rooms full of hardware and weeks of planning. It's opened up so many possibilities.
C# and .Net Core, as it allows us to develop robust and sophisticated cloud, web, mobile and desktop applications that can run across a multitude of different operating systems, which makes this immensely powerful in providing a reliable and flexible solution to our clients.
The keyboard, found on almost every desk and in every pocket. Often overlooked it's one of the most widely used input devices, you could say it was the main contribution to building technology itself. That is until auto-collect comes along.
Microprocessor, without it, we wouldn’t have affordable home computing, and so much more that has inspired generations of developers and engineers to transform their interest, creativity and ingenuity into a career.
Gaming Consoles, some say it’s a waste of time, but to others, it’s a great way to relax - unless you concede last minute goal in FIFA!
Remarkable, is a digital notebook that my family clubbed together to buy for me after they got sick of my practice of having multiple notebooks, each for a distinct subject matter, piled around the house. Each book is an icon on my Remarkable front page and the notes are searchable.
iPhone / iPad, as the day it launched it was a proper wow moment, and as its grown, its ability to connect, inform and open the world in the palm of your hand is both incredible and awesome.
Digital communication, as it allows people to stay in touch and see each other no matter where they are in the world. And Nintendo...
Another aspect of knockout that I find really enjoyable to use are computed properties, this allows UI elements to be changed on the fly, which really adds to the usability of the site.
YouTube, as in the last couple of years, YouTube has become the second most popular website in the world. The platform unites almost 2 billion users from across the world, uploading 500 hours of video content every minute.
This enormous platform is using machine-learning algorithms for recommending videos. It has a great and easy to use UI as well as a search engine that returns a huge number of related videos to multiple users every second.
The platform seems to be utilizing the best data retrieval techniques to display the results in a couple of milliseconds, very impressive.
Vue.js, is a flexible, fast and simple frontend framework to create user interfaces and single-page applications.
It is highly decoupling, allowing you to create components and extending base functionality with ease.
