Marketing - Humber Business Week

Humber Business Week is a festival of business established in 2004. It is a five-day event that aims to showcase the wealth of talent, entrepreneurship, vision and future potential of the Humber region through a diverse programme of events which both inspire and educate. The festival comprises of events which include high-profile keynote speakers, expos, workshops, celebration receptions and much more.

Background

This year, for the first time, Humber Business Week decided against producing a full brochure of the week, instead opting to use digital platforms. This would save money on printing costs and resources on distributing brochures to event attendees. In addition, they needed the ability to regularly update information with minimal disruption.

What we delivered

StyleTech produced an app that details the itinerary of the week, provides the latest news of the event and details of the awards and competitions where participants can win prizes.

The app automatically updates without the attendee needing to do anything; this keeps the information completely up-to-date and flexible, a priority for the client.

In addition, the app sends news stories and push notifications to the attendee for the purposes of competitions, winners are automatically notified straight to their phone. This function has future potential to be adapted by Humber Business Week, for example, to promote events.

The results

The bespoke app provides a significant cost reduction for Humber Business Week, eliminating the need for brochures and distribution costs.

The app has the potential to reach a much wider audience through its ease to download straight onto their phone or tablet. It also allows Humber Business Week to distribute better quality information as it is not limited by print space and can be updated extremely easily. As a result, the information the attendee receives is completely up-to-date and bookings are made much easier. As it does not require an internet connection, it can be used anywhere effortlessly.

The speed of response is high and the app is smooth and fast running, attendees can get all information at their fingertips. It takes up very little memory on the attendee’s device and is available for both Apple and Android.
